After retiring from the Pittsburgh public school system, Dr. Barbour obeyed a calling from God in 2001 to offer his extensive expertise, wisdom, spiritual leadership, and his heart of service to the children and families of HCA. Under his guidance and leadership, substantial improvements have been realized in the areas of curriculum, technology, staff development, and the physical building. He has safely seen the school through many changes and challenges, all the while placing the schools mission of providing quality Christ-centered education to train up a child in the way he should go first, instilling in every child a desire to follow Jesus Christ, and equipping them to further the process of his or her future pursuits. Through the years Dr. Barbour has built a culture of harmony and respect at the school, earning himself a special place in the hearts of all who walk through the doors of HCA.
